I will be coming to KM on september for a one year student exchange at the Yunnan University of finance and economics (YUFE) and I'm looking for a place to live, near the university, but I have no idea where to start! Is there some website where i can try to search on (if possible in english, i speak a little chinese but not enough to choose an appartment!)?

My advice is to find a hotel nearby to stay in first for a week or so. Spend that time finding an apartment. There are plenty of real estate agents, and students that can help you hunt for an apartment when you get here.

There are some websites to find an apartment, but they usually don't provide much information.
