  • I am looking for a good source of whey Protein, such as EAS or other quality product at a price that is similar to the U.S.

    Also looking for the health supplement ...Coconut Oil. In the States I normally bought it at Whole Foods.

    And while I am at it, a good source for Fish Oil Capsules and CoQ10

    thanks very much!!!! And I would like these at "reasonable" prices :-)

  • Fair question...
    I am looking for standard health food supplements that should be available world wide. I am not asking for what I had back home. I am wanting the equivalent in quality. Since labor is the expendable resource in China, then I see no reason why I would be paying more for something that is produced here.

    Whey protein in China is 3 times the price that I pay for it in the US. I cannot find coconut oil, even though I can find coconuts. I imported my own Chia seeds as I could not find them here. I CoQ10 I have not found yet, nor good quality fish oil capsules.

    I enjoy a great deal about Kunming, and am opening a inline skating business here. Started Chinese classes to more understand the Chinese culture. But I also value my health and that is why I am looking for these things.

  • I am sorry if I happened to offend you, Gordon. Came home from an evening with foreigners (i am one too, obviously) who were complaining all evening about China, the food and blah, blah. Was basically angry at myself for not leaving earlier.

    You are of course right to look for what you want in a foreign country as well as back home.

  • No worries. At first I was taken aback and then realized what time it was that you posted :-)

    Kunming and China have their own way of doing things and I am doing my best to adjust. However, there are other things that I just cannot find the logic in. But that is the "china way" :-)

    I may decide to have a "care package" sent from the states, but would rather source locally as long as I don't get products that are clean and safe.

  • To the best of my limited knowledge the only really high quality protein powder being sold in China is imported, so expect to pay more—though probably not three times the price.
