My student visa expires at the end of the month - I would like to get a tourist visa for the minimum hassle/cost. If anyone has applied for a visa recently in HK or Laos, I'd like some up-to-date info.
I know I have to leave the country to get the visa - is HK the only option, or are Chinese tourist visas for British citizens available in Laos? And if so, is this option any cheaper/easier than HK?
Any recent info on validity, price and extension options (from what I gather, it has a 30 day validity, with the option to extend it twice, 30 days a time, without needing to leave the country)for tourist visas for Brits would also be appreciated.
It's all pretty basic stuff, but getting up-to-date unbiased info, particularly from the primary sources, ain't easy. Thanks in advance for any info.
