Thanks anyway Barbara
Is Slice of Heaven a reference to the Dave Dobbyn song of the same name? i.e. could there actually be a 'Kiwi' bar in Kunming?

Anyone know how much it costs to get Star Sports installed in the home?
Doesn't sound like any pubs out there have it - if you own a pub and you do have Star Sports let us know on the forum cos you'll be my new favourite place at least from september 9 to october 23
Anybody know if Arsenal v Liverpool will be shown on CTV 5 or a good pub to watch it at?
Cheers
Interesting thread
I have just arrived in Kunming. I have no teaching experience but I have a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English Literature. I recently had an interview at Haina Language School and the suggested rate if I accepted employment was 90 yuan per hour for teaching hours and confusingly, 30 yuan per hour for compulsory 'office hours'. Office hours covers lesson preparation, which I understand is unpaid for in other positions, but it also includes additional work. Does this seem fair? I accept that with no actual teaching experience, the starting rate may be low but, well I'm not sure...

The Flying Tigers are kicking off a new season this Saturday (September 14) with a social game of touch rugby.
Everybody is welcome and no experience is necessary.
The club will provide beer at the match. There will be an after-party at O'Reilly's Irish pub after the game.
Contact the club at kunming.rugby@gmail.com for more information.
Fantastic place. Live sports as per promised with football, rugby, basketball, golf and so on.
For the food, I've only had the cheeseburger so far and it was pretty damn good. Better yet it came with proper hot chips and not crisps.
Friendly, knowledgable staff as well.

发布者I hadn't looked at the photos before I posted them. Having done so they're nothing special. I was at Lugu Lu recently and it really is beautiful - I just hope it lasts. It's got a way to go but the warning signs of a mass tourism ala Lijiang are all in place
