Forums > Living in Kunming > Renting vs subletting a room Let me rephrase, and clarify.
The building management is only one of the parties obligated. That is why they should be able to help you, they can't say "it's not my job to know".
One of their responsibilities is to report anyone/tennant who is not (0r activity that is not) fully legal.
But as Geezer said, ultimately the buck stops with you.
@Heniu, it sounds like you are not legally registered.
Forums > Living in Kunming > What are your useful apps.? Slightly off topic, but clearly related issue. Someone mentioned data.
How data hungry are these apps?
What are peoples bills like?
Forums > Living in Kunming > What are your useful apps.? I see someone asking about an app on here.
It might be useful to discuss apps that make life in CHN/KMG easier.
What are your favourite apps?
What do they do?
Why do you like them?
Pros/cons?
etc.
As someone who has yet to join the smartphone revolution, it would be useful to know what I am missing.
Other may benefit from learning about an app then have not heard of yet.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Asbestos test With textured paints, the asbestos would be in the paint and not behind it.
The health hazards from asbestos are from breathing the dust, which usually occurs when working with the stuff. Mostly cutting it, or sanding it.
There is asbestos everywhere in China. Lock it up behind paint is a quick solution to your problem. Don't do anything that might liberate any dust from suspect material.
If you find a body that could test, remember that any negative test reports can be made to 'go away' with the appearance of a red envelope. The building management would be a little poorer and you would be none the wiser. Kunming is the perfect environment for this, well documented.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Food quality sucks, Nestle.. I can recommend the following local OTC and if the pharmacist does not have it there are several similar substitutes that do the same job. Not all are capsules, some are little black pills. All smell like anis.
Huo Xiang Zheng Qi 藿香正气 Jiao Nang胶囊 (capsules). Main ingredient is Giant Hysop.
Take 4 immediately, then 3 or 4 tabs/caps 3x per day for 3 days. They take effect very quickly, and the taking of them for 3 days is to kill residual bacteria. Best to take them as soon as you think you have a problem.
We also use them as a prophylactic if we think we have consumed bad food.
We always carry these.

发布者Blobbles, if there are not trees, you may be able to make out farmers routes on Google Earth. You can sometimes.
If you have personal GPS you could also check progress by pre-defining lat-long from Google Earth before you leave home and write them on a print out.
Just an idea.
