Forums > Living in Kunming > Catholic Church in KunMing?

The differences are theological (belief) and legal (church law). The biggest difference for practising Christians relates to Mass. You should only partake in the Catholic Mass if you are a confirmed in the Catholic Church. Additionally, there are theological reasons why some non-Catholics will not partake in the Catholic Mass, but can take part in the Sacrament (takin of bread and wine/body and blood of Christ) in non-Catholic churches; and visa versa.
If you don't know what that means, you will need to look it up, as it is too complex and time consuming to explain on here.

For a visa, full time study. This is usually 20 class hours per week. You really need to attend all classes. We had one classmate went for a long weekend travel with girlfriend, missed two days class and had his next visa application refused.
Unless you are at a university the school will have to help find you somewhere to live. If you are not white, or of sino-asian appearance, you may find this difficult. Some of our classmates from the Indian subcontinent could not find accommodation, as landlords thought they might be terrorists. Seriously, this happened.

We have eaten a lot of the daisy leaves. They are very edible indeed.
Some of our neighbours are growing oranges and other citrus fruits. They survived the recent hard frosts, and they also look splendid; even when the plants are small.
I think I will try to grow some lemons for G&Ts.

I am not sure that dragon boat events were ever held in the Minorities Village. This could be a hang over from erroneous remark in an article on dragon boat festivals a year or two ago.
The only dragon boat events I know of, in the last 10 years, were held on the northern half of Haigeng Dam (Daba). These now fall on the calendar of the international dragon boat racing events.

This has moved.
The cut flowers are about 700m east on Duonan Jie. The plants and trees are about 700 m west and follow Duocai Section.

A reasonable choice of lumber that has improved over time. Fancy hardwoods like walnut, and mahogany are in abundance. There are some plywood and rubber-wood boards available. There are also some kiln dried imported softwoods and merbao available. Some of the lumber is very green, so look for the kiln dried if you need stable timbers.

Echo everything said by others.
Breakfast great and the serve from 8am. Most other places say 9am and they still are not ready.
Sandwiches are cheap 22-32, and really packed full of filling. We got some sandwiches for a day out, the only mistake I made was ordering two, as this was too much. These are seriously good sangars, and they are wrapped in alu foil.

In fairness to Metro, they are a wholesalers, and not really a supermarket. Hence the need for a card, which can be got around.

They have improved in the year I have been away. They now carry a more consistent range of imported foodstuffs and they also seem to have sorted out the mported milk supply.

They have a wider range of electrical appliances now, there is a coice of more than one toast. There is also a better range of seasonal non foods, like clothes, shoes, garden furniture and camping gear.
