Cheap Private Schools

Azulacea (6 posts) • 0

Hey guys, I need your laowai experience!

We are in a rush to find a cheap private school that provides a long term VISA and we are looking for the cheapest one.

If you can provide a name, price and location would be awesome!!

Peace

Your post is confusing. You want to work at a cheap private school so you can get a VISA or you want to send your child to one? What are you talking about?

Mei's Mandarin is quite cheap, most of the schools are, apart from Keats -I think they charge slightly more. They can provide visas, but beware; officials occaisionally come to check for fake students so the school may rat you out if you are just using the school for the visa and not actually studying. If that happens, you may get deported.

Has anyone lived here on a student visa? If so, how many classes were you required to attend and how much did it cost?

For a visa, full time study. This is usually 20 class hours per week. You really need to attend all classes. We had one classmate went for a long weekend travel with girlfriend, missed two days class and had his next visa application refused.
Unless you are at a university the school will have to help find you somewhere to live. If you are not white, or of sino-asian appearance, you may find this difficult. Some of our classmates from the Indian subcontinent could not find accommodation, as landlords thought they might be terrorists. Seriously, this happened.
