Forums > Travel Yunnan > Using internet in Yunnan as a tourist A vpn is a service you sign up with and pay monthly usually, though there are some free ones, but they are mostly tunneling proxys which are a bit different, but still do the same function of letting you access blocked sites.
You can always hotspot wifi for tablet via your phone if it can get 3g/4g in China.
Too bad the unblocked version of Google maps is missing the english and pinyin, that would of been nice. Osm has gotten very good for tier2 cities now, but still lacking for countryside and smaller cities.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Technition needed The others are right. Backup and reinstall would be your best bet.
If it came with some discs when you bought it, find those. Some should hopefully be diagnostic or reinstall discs. Then try those.
If not, you can try this guide to reinstalling Windows 7.

Forums > Travel Yunnan > Using internet in HK You can buy a 3g/4g data sim cards for like 60hkd. I got one at "3" mobile shop for my next trip. They are valid for like a year. I think mine has like a three day data pass. Found the store and sim just browsing around a shopping mall. It's a prepaid kit so all you need is money, no registration or paperwork. Store accepted credit card also. Can always hotspot phone if you need wifi for tablet or laptop.
Anyways here is a link to a an article about it, though I didn't follow this guy's advice but seems the same.

Yunnan Baiyao sued over toxic ingredients
发布者eblair obviously is a blind zealot regarding chinese traditional medicine. He or she has come to the enraged defense of aconite having totally ignored the that:
1) The lawsuit in the article has yet to be determined in favor or against the Yunnan Baiyao
2) eblair obviously didn't bother to click on the links in the article to discover that Yunnan Baiyao's mainly under attack for faulty seals in Sichuan and not listing aconite as an ingredient in HK. I don't think anyone can argue that faulty seals and mislabeling are not egregious.
Scally presented an informative article. I agree eblair is just pissed off.
