Forums > Living in Kunming > Chinese Thinking "love" young female/old male

Thanks for the samples. Best advice for any marriage - avoid in laws. Unless you have a Great relationship with inlaws, avoid them as much as possible. Do NOT live in the same city or province and visit as few times as possible.

My wife and I get along well because we do not have to hasssle with in-laws, mine or hers. Every time she talks to her family on the phone, there is always an arguement about what she SHOULD do. Regardless of how old she is, they still want her to do what is best for them.

The reality is that chinese women change and adapt more than the western man does, this is the reality of a chinese mixed marriage.

Chinese women become more westernized rather than the western man becoming more chinese.

en.wikipedia.org/[...]

This website lists all the National Historical sites of Gansu including UNESCO sites.

UNESCO sites serve only a small percentage of the population in China because of the significant cost involved. Most people who visit these places have no idea of what UNESCO is. They just go because it is a famous place.

The remaining National historic sites are NOT known by many people, and locals who live nearby have no idea of the historical importance of these sites. Most of these sites are Free or tickets are inexpensive.

Visiting historic sites takes me to many small towns or villages where REAL people live, not the FAKE rich people who visit UNESCO sites.

I learn a lot by visiting these out of the way places. These small towns rarely see foreigners so I am always treated well (celebrity).

I also had to learn the names of every prefecture in the province I am visiting as well as every county of each of the prefectures I go to.

My wife does the research of how to get from A to B and she reads comments written by others who have visited these sites. Unfortunately, the people who make these comments have no idea of geography nor the village (Cun), or town (Zhen) or township (Xiang), or county (Xian), or prefecture (Zi Zhi Qu) or city (Shi) they went to.

The history and the geography are a great learning experience for my wife and I. After visiting several provinces and all the historic sites in them we have developed a systematic way of seeing all the sites now.

Forums > Travel Yunnan > Wu Family Mansion in Heijing

Directly across from Wu is a family guesthouse for 60 RMB. Wu hotel is 180 RMB and more during holidays. A few years ago I went to Heijing during May Day. Not a single place was vacant. Because it was too late to get out we had to get a ride to a nearby village where all we can get was a room with no bathroom - nasty. Golden Week is NOT the time for Heijing unless you already have reservations.

If ofo can throw away thousands of bikes and leave them destroyed on many city streets across China, then it must be getting (Stealing) money from somewhere.

It is impossible to run an UNsustainable business model such as this across so many cities.

Even the manufacturer of the ofo bikes should be happy to get those bikes back and repair them and then sell them back to ofo.

These bikes are littering the city streets and the city should FINE ofo for littering.

The new Visa office is located at 118 Tuo Dong Road. There is no number on the building yet so do not bother to look for it. There are 2 passport photo shops on either side of the building. The office is located directly in front of the Kunming Museum. The bus stop is named - Shi Bo Wu Guan - Bus 1, 62, 109, 117, 145, 213, A1 and K3 stop directly in front of the office. Foreigners need to go to the 3rd floor. The Tuo Dong Stadium is located to the right of the office while Baita Road is located to the left of the office.
