Forums > Living in Kunming > tailor/suit-maker in Kunming

Hi, has anyone had a men's suit made here? Any advice or recommendations (negative or positive) would be much appreciated!

Recommendations for tailors in other Chinese cities or HK also very welcome.

Thanks.

Thanks redmoon! It's a little hard to tell who's respectable on the Beijinger thread, but after the holiday I'm going to give it a try...

Thanks redmoon. Do you have leave every 30 days with that visa?

As far as I can tell, Hong Kong is the cheapest option at the moment, with prices as low as HK$1400 if you're willing to wait a couple days for a 6-month multi-entry visa. Still, according to the HK agencies I spoke with (JTA, Sunshine, Shoestring), you have to leave every 30 days (at least if you're a US citizen--not sure about others).

I've heard some rumors that the 6-month continual stay visas might be issued again after the holidays. Anyone know more about this?

Also: does anyone know if you can get a 30-day L visa extension on a 90-day L visa?

Has anyone tried to do this in Kunming through an agency or visa service? Or has anyone had a good, inexpensive experience doing this in Beijing or Hong Kong? I'm a US passport holder looking to get a six-month multi-entry F visa.

Apologies if this topic has recently been addressed... Thanks!

This place is solid -- a new, low-key coffee oasis very centrally located, with flowing wi-fi, good espresso drinks, standard prices. Also a great place for laptop work, but you might want to bring headphones (unless you like looped American Christian rock).
