Heard good things about Helen Doron English. They are a country wide chain. Kunming location at Xindaxin Department Store on Zhengyi Road. Also met someone once who was working at MyGym, but don't know where it is located so best to do a Google search and find out.

Speaking of LTE does anyone know when this standard will be available in China? I read that China Mobile is testing a 4G network, does Unicom have similar plans?
I do like my 3G access but like Jopasny miss the high speed LTE offers.
Perhaps the OP does not have a credit card to purchase the ticket. But I have to agree with such low cost carriers there is no point buying from an agent and paying a service charge. Perhaps you can approach one of your close friends to help out if they have a credit card. Could be worth a try.

Thank you for such detailed information on what seems like a great trip away from Kunming. Someone like me who has recently arrived in the area it is nice to read about places other than Dali and Lijiang. Any other less touristy and out of the way places you would recommend? Thank you in advance.
