I am studying in Kunming and would like to volunteer with kids in my spare time. I am specifically interested in spending time with kids in orphanages but can't seem to find any information about how to do this. Does China allow foreigners to volunteer in orphanages? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I want to study abroad in Kunming for the spring semester 2014. I would like to just enroll directly into one of the universities in Kunming. I want to mainly study Mandarin for the semester I am there. Does anyone have any recommendations on good schools that have study abroad programs for chinese language?

I am also having a difficult time figuring out how to apply to some of the universities I have been looking at (Yunnan university, Yunnan normal university, and Yunnan nationalities university)

I could use some advice on how to apply, which schools are good for learning Chinese, and anything else you think is useful.
