Yes of course I included French people abroad. French people are very grumpy, they (we !) complain about everything including about the French. English people may have trouble adapting to the food or other but at least they are gracious about it.
To go back to foreigners living abroad, you will find that no matter how much some of them will complain when there, once they are back home they will often fiercely defend the country they were living in.
This is recurrent and if you lived in another country you would hear the same disgusted comments about the locals from a few permanently discontented foreigners. I am French and have lived abroad quite a lot and can assure you that no matter what, you will meet this type of attitude.
Don't pay too much attention to it, it's the same everywhere. They criticise but they stay. Don't ask my why.
