By the way, what kind of things had you planned originally? Would be nice to hear how some of you entertain guests from abroad.

i use to live beside the jiaotong xuexiao haha, they all come out at 5pm or so, and swing accross the main road on the wrong side over a zebra crossing all in one go :) the traffic highschool ffs! :) i think things are gettin better though, especially.in the.city. often, if.they try to break red and run me over i will stop.and tie my.shoelaces in the middle of.the.road right in.front of.them.
手机维修中心 is on the right hand side, as you walk from xiaoximen towards 121 street. About 20 meters after the footbridge. There are a whole row of smartphone repairshops there, and the one I tried was the very first one, i think. From the street you can see inside, and it is obviously a workshop. I'll be back in town soon, if you need better landmarks I can write again tuesday!
I checked out a number of places around Xiaoximen today to replace a broken screen on a samsung note3.
"ting ting tong xun", is a shop with the greatest ripoff merchants I have ever encountered. Wanted 850.
2 or 3 places I didnt bother to note the names, did'nt want too provide a "while-u-wait" service. I.E. they either were gonna send my phone someplace else nearby to be fixed, and then add a hefty premium. Or they wanted to strip my original parts.
In the end I tried my luck at 手机维修中心 right across the street. 300rmb for a perfect job, all the parts in view all the time. The guy there is a real pro and knew exactly what he was doing. Did the job right before my eyes in 15 minutes, for 300kuai.
lesson learned: if you need a repair done, go to a place that looks like a WORKSHOP. Not a place that looks like an office with a reception desk and suited staff!

been there several times, very satisfied every time. menu has classics like fish n chips, bolognese, pizzas etc. very tasty, at good prices.
Friendly staff and good service, food and prices are ok. No complaints but its nothing special either, and not worth a visit unless you live closeby.
Nice atmosphere and cosy but the western food is bad. I think they deep-fry the burgers. As a cafe - 4 stars (service is a little bit lacking at times), coffee and cakes etc are good. As a restaurant, 2 stars (western food is too bad, asian food is mamahuhu).
"All the Meat" only had about 3 slices of salami on it, so maybe i got the wrong order. Anyway, leaving that aside - soggy bread, ketchup as tomatosauce, and cheese was probably from a tube.
Potato wedges soggy as well.
I left half my meal, the only thing up to scratch was the coke and the service. Will not be back.
If the name of the shop is written in english then they should speak english, yes! A pokey shithole trying to give the impression of a quaint li'l ole bookshop. Pig-ignorant staff, never been greeted with a smile there, nor even greeted. If you must shop here, bring your own bag. 1 star earned for selection and the (for me) convenient location.
New taxi placards target 'civility'
发布者Who is going to manage to read the sign as the cab is passing by.
There are too few cabs and too few busses. Ban private cars from the city center.
