keep in mind, that it is kind of condescending to assume that chinese guest, coming to those (agreed) monkey shows are stupid, innocent and gullible enough, to not know what is going on.

i have been to a few of them and they have been great fun and most agencies would never ask, or force you to lie about who you really are.

i have been to a real estate one and i was a test driver for the new jetta. people interested, would never be stupid enough to ask you about the real estates value, or how the jetta's ESP or GPS responded to china's dirt roads.

some event manager decides, it would be fun to have foreigners around? to mingle and chitchat and that's it.

nobody there get's scammed, to buy or sell anything, coz there is a white face. it's just modelling for less beautiful people.....at least in my case.

i would agree on tongue in cheek, but it isn't funny enough. it's just sad-cynical, no punchline, no comparisons to other groups, not even a creative writing style. just a roundup of offensive stuff.

the only really ironic (funny) part is, that the stereotypes described, are already an overstereotyped version of the stereotype and vastly outdated.

...from the ones i was exposed to, when i was a Beijing; veteran- functioning alcoholic- student-professional-teacher- gulou hipster.

i guess it is to stir up some feedback to an otherwise unknown blog or website.

i think this whole thing shouldn't be taken too seriously. it obviously was published to offend and be excluding many people who are not all represented that negatively.

it's about stereotypes and as all stereotypes, they are the inaccurate surface of a bigger but different truth.

as HFCAMPO said. the stuff that is thrown at chinese at this forum is equally inaccurate. since we are all individuals with different hobbies, dreams and lifestyle.

i don't give a crap what category i am. as a previous poster said. i have my goals and dreams. what do i care, if i am judged by a guy who is getting paid to offend. and who is probably the worst of all stereotypes.

if you think you are represented as one of those. change your lifestyle or do something more purposefully, or ignore those negative people.

you are happy?...awesome! who cares what type you are.

what idiot puts people in categories, in the first place?

our society is a product of evolution and not copying. sombody sees something existing and making it better...not replicating.

if we would be just copycats we would still be in the dark ages.
we can see beyond reverse engineering to see the faulty part and error. not always but more often than people think. visionaries and geniuses do this all the time.

@Campo
there are other ways of forcing ones opinion other than using violence.

look i didn.t mean to offend you, but to be honest, you don't exactly bring huge variety of choices in the table. everything other than your way and "bam!" we are stupid, sheeple and sometimes worse.

i get it you are smart, i am stupid. you win, but I, or,we don.t need to hear it all the times.

i accept your opinion,so please accept mine without judgement or ridicule.

i also don.t want to argue again. i am enjoying the peace. maybe, just maybe, bring an idea (or two) that all parties of the IP problem could agree upon.

fact is, we need IP protection, especially for the small companies.

...but certainly not the way, it is right now. which big corps can abuse.

...and the small businesses IP protection is impotent and faulty.

is there anything in the middle or a new moderate approach?...without getting too extreme or changing the entire world?...too quickly?
not because i wouldn.t like the planet to be different, but the chances for that to happen soon, i see as very far away.

i am not greedy. i don.t want to be rich or exploiting my environment or staff. i want a better life, offering a good product and service. willing to share my ideas with trustworthy loyal people. i don.t think that each and every businessowner is thriving for world market domination and riches.

i have a higher risk and hopefully a higher income. good IP rights and fair enforcement, would help everyone, even producing healthier competition and creating job.

i.m thinking in companies and people commiting IP theft could be monitored, assets frozen and banned from working. also donating for charities and reimbursing laid off workers for companies charged for IP theft.

companies hiring people sentenced for IP theft should be fined. punishment is always prone for error. maybe the money going straight to universities R&D facilities, where new ideas ate produced and marketed as public domain.

The IP thing is new and needs new creative approaches.
but most important is, to build incentives for companies not stealing ideas. in money, tax deductions and most important, incentives for the staff.

most incentives are handed to CEO and management. who are hard to motivate for such things.
similar to a military leader, they should give the praise and rewards to the staff. and take responsibility for failure and take the fall for wrong doings.

also ethics training for CEO and manager.

there are tons of ideas.

you can' hypnotize people to do something they don.t want to do.

a friend of mine took a 11day trip to europe. the moment the boarding was complete, the guide asked 400 euro from each passenger or she wouldn't guide them. no sightseeing, etc. and of course she kept the passports.

wow...sounds like they needed a lot of planning and personnel in the maticulous planning of a terrorist masterplan, such as killing random people at a busy trainstation with knives and machetes.

i just saw a newsfeed where 10 thugs attacked and smashed a preschool on beijing lu. and they were very cautious of not killing anyone...the point is they seemed to have planned their attacks much more carefull with a tenth of manpower.

i wouldn't be surprised if the executed culprits are bloggers or rights activists or just normal blokes having commited the crime of offending an influencial person or VIP.

confessing after a few weeks in chinese jail. isn.t proof enough for me.

i guess we will hear and see of more dilenquents related to the horrible march events, in the future. since there will never be access to the trial, it's a free ticket of killing whoever they want. making all westers secret organizations look like incompetent posers in terms of killing people they don.t like.

the sad thing is that by killing and jailing everyone not compliant with their political view or being of another religion or minority. they make the victims and their families complicit.

i go with Haali on this one.
I would marry a lantern-fish to safe anyone in my family.

plus who knows if it works. i know people that were friends or partners for years and when they married, it didn't last for more than a few weeks.
...and...
i know people that met for an hour and knew they'd stay together forever.

and maybe she finds a smart, romantic fella and he gives her the money out of compassion and asks her to get to know each other first. A bloke having 300 thou flying around won't mind losing it over a girl he likes.

i agree with what walter said. the station is not a place for high fliers. but more people at the station being able to relate to poverty related problems.

i can only wish she gets the money for her brother and the bloke of her dreams.

What a wonderful experience!!!
We chose Richland to give birth to our baby.

And literally everything there was incredible.

The competence of the physicians, the care and attention to details.

The rooms were more luxurious than most mid range hotel room.
We had a birth with few minor complications and the doctors were amazing.

They didn't withhold any information about risks and actually gave us a very detailed briefing about all possible risks.
An army of doctors visited us every morning, making sure everything is fine, being serious about everything. Afterwards they always had a little anecdote and always encouraging words for first time parents.
They encouraged Daddy to stay overnight and they taught us a whole bunch of tricks to take care of the baby.

The food was good and cheap.

Indeed, the price is higher than most local hospitals but it is worth every penny.
Plus if you go to a local hospital they may give you a fixed price and later tell you about some emergencies and then you end up with a bill around 10 grand as well.

Our baby had the umbilical cord around her neck twice and they still recommended us to give natural birth, since they measured the umb. cord's length, that is very exceptional in China where everyone pushes for C-section.

We paid in total, a little over 13000RMB (excluding pre-checks).

And to the usual 7-8000RMB in other overcrowded, loud and messy Kunming clinics it's totally worth it.

If we have another child and we are in Kunming we will definitely go back.

Thanks again RICHLAND to make this rough and exhausting days a wonderful and relaxing experience.
