i'm wondering if anyone knows the latest on milk safety and the whole scandal. i haven't been able to find recent information about which brands were determined as safe/unsafe, and while i know it was milk powder and baby formula that were the greatest concern, i'd still like to know which brands, if any, were cleared of any melamine contamination. can anyone enlighten me?
i've still been drinking dairy milk, but i'd prefer to buy organic milk which i can't seem to find.
hey kathryn. sorry i didn't see this until just now. don't know if you checked out the track, but it's easy to find (just across the street of the beautiful pavilion with the pagoda-style roof) and pretty great. it's by no means a scenic track, but it gets the job done and takes it easy on the knees. and it's open all day which is a big bonus compared to ynnu's very limited hours.
i can't seem to find huancheng xi lu or the municipal athletic center on my map, but i see a "kunming stadium" that seems to lie just west of 121 da jie, between jiaolin road and west renmin road... is that where you're referring to? it's close to the radio and tv department of kunming, and the linjiaotang residential quarter?

my feet are in horrible shape due to the arid climate right now... anyone have any recommendations for places to get a good pedicure?
also, anyone know about hair-straightening here? do they do the japanese hair-straightening (which leaves your hair ramrod straight) as well as the keratin treatment (which leaves a bit of a body), or just the first kind? and how much can i expect to pay? would love a recomendation. i inquired at the place near manna restaurant which had a cheaper and more expensive kind but i didn't understand the differnce, as my chinese is terrible :(
