Forums > Living in Kunming > Where to buy a (gas powered) motorbike? Somenick I have been following those guys, looks like a blast! The only thing stopping me from starting in Houay Xai (catching boat to Chiang Saen, buying a Lao bike) is that I imagine it would be a lot harder getting a Lao registered bike into China than the other way around. I read on a forum here Lao registered cars can get as far as Jinghong with no problems, but not sure what its like for a bike. I know in Beijing that most of the bike riding around use 'borrowed plates' (by that I mean fake), is the case here in Yunnan? cheers.
Forums > Living in Kunming > Where to buy a (gas powered) motorbike? Hello,
So I have 2 weeks at the end of August to travel and I'm planning to get down to Huay Xai in Lao (on the Thai/Lao boarder). I'm planning on going by motorbike. This would mean buying a bike in Kunming and traveling down. I have had experience riding around Thailand and Vietnam, but I have no idea what to expect around Yunnan roads. Could someone tell me how they are for motorbike riding? I was also planning to go up to Dali by motorbike at some stage. Also what its like getting the bike into Lao? I can speak Chinese and a little Lao. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Forums > Study > Chinese Corner Sounds good, I'll be there! However I'm new to Kunming and could not find the above address on Google maps or on my map. Could you please copy and paste the address from Google maps?
Cheers.
