I remember the days when I just started learning English and tried to find as many English corners as possible to participate. Howere they didn't do a lot to improve my English. *How could I improve if everytime I only had to listen/do an introcution?*:p However I do like English Corners: making friends and getting to know people very quickly.

I think it would be a lot BETTER that you prepare what you want to say before you go! Brainstorm some topics you want to discuss, google some information about them( if you don't have any about the topics), and bring a bright mood. If possible, get some beer! :)

I really like the idea of starting a local chamber of commerce in Kunming. It mights help not only expats in Kunming to starts business, but also attract new businessmen to come to Kunming. If someone wants to start business, the chamber of commerce could have those "how to start a company in china" documents or materials translated and provided.

Well, I like the idea of this post. Personally I'm very interested in trade, especially fair-trade. I'd like to share this idea that fair-trade is a very hot topic in Europe right now and many companies are looking for producers in developing countrires. Since Yunnan is such a great place producing so many types of agricultural products, and handcrafts originated from tribes. Why not start a firm doing such things like that? Bring the great products from poor village people to an international market. I guess there are a few small firms are doing something similar. Well, just an idea I have for a long time.
