I created an account just to leave a review because these folks are AMAZING. We showed up hoping to rent a few bikes for a week for a self-guided tour through the rice terraces. They set us up — added racks and lights to our rental bikes, stored our luggage, offered to drive us to the train station, bought us ponchos because it was raining, showed infinite patience with our use of translator apps. Their prices were some of the lowest — and they were one of just a few shops willing to let us take their bikes out of town. If you're looking to rent bikes in Kunming, you're looking for Xiong Bros! I was in Kunming for a couple of days and I had the pleasure to attend the beginner class of china catch wrestling on Monday. I had a tremendous time training there. Bage is a really passionate coach with a deep knowledge of martial arts. I would definitely recommend to come train and enjoy some of the classes given there ! Top class experience !

Fuxian Lake is a major vigorously and rigorously protected potable (drinkable) water source. It's host to a plethora of fresh water food, BBQs and the Hilton Hotel overlooks the lake. Behind the Hilton is a rather large collection of villas (HK style), many with basements, garage (not necessarily connected to your home though), and lap pools, if the lake is too far to walk (it's about 1-2km away).

The lake surroundings are a future development site for Yuxi City, so should be interesting to see how the city develops, while complying with the national protection of water resources.

You can't get anymore authentic than this in Kunming. Absolutely love the food and service here. Words can't express enough how I felt coming here, do experience it yourself.
