My friend is an English and he wants to travel to China for about 2-3 months, is it possible to him to stay that long with a tourist visa?
He said from what he saw on official website, he is only allowed to stay in China for maximum 30 days, anyone knows how to get visa extented or is it possible for him to reapply a new one (for another 1 month) after the former visa expires?
If you know more about it,or even could give him better advice, please contact me (wechat: 15812070888)
Cheers,
Lucy
Usually a tourist visa can be extended once through the local PSB office, for a maximum of 30 days.
I have heard of people doing it twice, but that is very rare. Only count on it being possible once.
I assume this is the same with the new visa regulations?
I think that under the new regulations, that came into effect in Sept 2013, it is only possible to extend once.
Leaving to China to visit Thailand, or Laos, might allow him to apply for a new visa. But you would need to check on this.
He could pop-out of the country after the second and re-new. A quick trip to Laos would do it!
Thanks all :)
I also heard from friend that leave to Laos quickly then back China may help, but does it mean he has to apply for the multiple enter at the beginning ? and how do they count the stay time, pop-out of China and then could get another 30days? or ..? just get quite confused .
It will be a totally new visa application, and a totally new visa would be issued.
It will have no effect on, nor will it be affected by, the initial visa.
