An Australian place in Wanda shopping arcade, 4th floor (38rmb)

Moondog (Don't know if burgers will continue) (40rmb)

French Cafe (38rmb)

Great Australian Bite (Can't remember price)

A street stall in the Double Bridge Village (双桥村) night market, barbecued, very spicy and comes on a bun with onions. (20rmb)

I have never been to Humdinger yet but I would bet they can top Burger King too.

Not that it's as good as a burger in my opinion but you may be interested in trying a 肉夹馍 in one of the Shanxi restaurants around town, or on walking street. You can combine Chinese food in a burger concept then.

bk is fast food the others aint. bk are in more locations convenient to many of us who dont live downtown

to add to the above list, any of the Irish bar's burgers are so much better than Burger King's offerings. I like the new ones at the Silver Spoon cafe too.

But the others are better, and not fast food, for the same / similar price.

I'm mentioning better burgers. A BK or McDonald's is to burgers what a Fiat Yugo is to European cars.

Unless you're fresh from the rice paddies, spending your first day in the city and have no idea what a burger is or should taste like and want to subject yourself to the rigmarole of being asked if you would like anything extra with your order by a braindead tool, before sitting down in a noisy environment that smells like cleaning fluid and watching waifs and strays wander in and out to use the free toilet while sipping your fizzy pop through a straw like a 10 year old, then there is no excuse for ever going to a McDonald's, Dico's, BK or any other culinary hellhole, unless you are an American and fast food, European ripped-off slop dressed in fancy advertising is your national cuisine.

I'm trying to plug the little fellas, the people who make quality burgers and sell them for around the same price as American multinationals and don't subject you to all the BS that goes with it.

Well if you do find yourself unable to hold yourself together for the duration it would take to cook a burger, if you only have a 10 minute lunch break or if a childhood accident has left you without tastebuds, then by all means, go to Burger King or a Maccy D's, try visiting a Wimpy, that would suit you even better.
