Being the idiot that I am, I forgot to bring a travel adapter so I have all my UK plugs that I can't use to charge anything. I have an iPhone, dell laptop and hair straighteners. I know I should be able to find an iPhone plug anywhere easily but the other two I have no idea what to do.
Please help me!

No problem, Saliena. They have them an any Walmart or Carrefour, and they are cheap.

They have a smaller selection of voltage converters, but that shouldn't be an issue since UK also uses ~220V.

iPhone chargers are also available at Walmart and Carrefour. You can also find them in just about any place that has phone accessories. (Which are usually within 10 steps of wherever you are in Kunming.) iPhone use 5V USB power, so you just need the cable if you already have a computer with a USB port.

I have a hunch that you will find plenty of whatever you need, if you take a 5-10 minute walk from wherever you are in Kunming. :)

It's possible some small shops will have an extension outlet that might have big loose plug holes that a UK plug can fit in. Only way would to know for sure would be to bring a UK plug with you and test it.

I bought a new wall switch yesterday for my flat - I must have walked several hundred meters before I came across the second electric shop - the first did not have the right size - but both places had plug adapters. But what an incredible waste of time - maybe half an hour or more! I probably should have written gokunming.
