I wanted to buy protein supplement in the gym, but it costs like 700 rmb there, I could even get it much cheaper in my country. I suppose in gyms it's always that expensive, anyone has an advice where to get it cheaper?

You can head over to a pharmacy, some pharmacies has it. Why would you buy protein supplement anyway? In China just eat more, it's cheaper than the supplement anyway. Drink soymilk, eat more beans and meat... that's what I would do :)

you can buy protein for better prices at the sports equipment shops at the TuoDong Stadium. i used to buy Competitor brand,, if you look on their web site they have a phone number for their agent in Kunming.

Just be careful when buying protein powder, now that there is a scare of melamine being added to milk to increase protein content.....just check to make sure that you get the good stuff and not "melamine" improved!!!!!

The protein powders in the drug stores are not a substitute because they are for dietary needs not sports performance as I assume you want!!!
