Was wondering if it's possible to join china with a tourist L visa and get it changed to student visa X type during that 30 days.

I'm pretty sure i did read something like that but the topic seemed to be pretty old, have someone done it lately?, something i should be aware of?.

I am going to join YNNU to study Chinese for 1 year and the University office seem to be on vacation right now, so i wasn't able to ask them directly.

I'm in the process of doing this now. I'm gonna study at KUST. It costs 400RMB. I have to pick it up on the 25th.
I think if you are studying for more than six months you will need to get the medical check. Be sure to take photocopies of your passport visa page and info page, the admission notice from the Uni and lots of passport photos.

My uni just told me they been doing that before, but they not sure now after 1 july 2013 visa changes...

so. .well see what happens, hopefully nothing
