I have a friend coming to study who wants a student visa but wants to get it as cheaply as possible, even if that means he only gets 2 hours of classes a week or whatnot.
Can anyone tell me, specifically, the price you pay for your student visa, whether it's 6 months or a year, and the name of the school?
Thanks
I assume visa abuse is the key reason for this post.
Visa abuse?...Right!
Since we all arrived here with all papers and documents completly legal and notarized the first time we came to China. Looks like whistleblowers everywhere these days, huh?
I would say 98% of all expats in China would be deported if any real IRS official would thouroughly look at all our Visa.
And even for the all legal ones, there is always something that isn't all legal.
Trust me I had a 100% legal Visa issued by Beijing PSB and I was stunned how much was wrong with it when a "real/proper' authority looked at it.
So I woudn't shout "Wolf" just too loud, yet.
For your friend I think to enrol in a school wouldn't be a bad option even though I heard a lot of school are trying to get rid of students (Visa) for a variety of reasons, e.g. low chance of enrolling for a second year, low test grades.
...Dunno how severe it is but the whole (new) visa scare drives everyone crazy. Funny thing is not even the PSB knows what to do or how to get new Visa...You gotta love this country.
So going to a school isn't a bad idea and looking at the cost to get a visa in hongkong or elsewhere, plus the hassle. I'd say going to a school plus getting actual courses looks like a fantastic deal...these days.
...haha...nice one!
..maybe more. lol
The student visa is 400 rmb whether you enrol for six months or a year. I just got mine.
If you want one without classes, it is possible, but likely the school will charge as if you were attending some classes a week.
I know people who have managed to get student visa's with no classes who also still study, usually their own thing or travel around China heaps. The cost was 5k-8k for 1 year. Pretty expensive and probably not worth the hassle of being potentially deported.
China needs to clear this area up. There should be an expensive visa that you can get which gives you 6 months to a year of travel/study/freedom in China which is readily convertible to a work visa, especially for English teaching. Instead you have heaps of people that want to come but have to rort the system a little bit in order to live here without exiting/entering all the time.
again, 7 responses and not 1 answer to the question. all i want to know is how much you pay for your tuition. not asking about visa abuse or policy changes, just looking for a place my friend can study without paying an arm and a leg
Okay. Okay. Don't get your panties in a bunch! Ha.ha. The answer is:_________________________________.
