I continuously see cycling clubs and individuals riding towards fu xian hu on the main road going up the mountain pass.
Are they ignorant of the following health hazards??...
#1 The main road is noisy, dusty and highly polluted by the trucks and cars struggling up the mountain pass, this crap is inhaled deep in the pores of the lungs as the struggling cyclist's body is trying to get as much oxygen as possible.. Very unhealthy.....
#2 It's the most dangerous place to be on a bicycle going uphill and downhill. Trucks and cars overtaking while avoiding potholes, motorbikes, toc toc trucks, did I mention potholes??
Can someone spread this information to cycling clubs??
There are 2 country farm roads leading over the pass to fu xian lake, quiet, beautiful scenery with small villages and very few vehicles.
One from chengong needs to climb cosiderably more elevation than the main road, the other, aprox 5 to 6 km south of the main road is a shallow slope finishing at a mountain top overviewing fu xian lake with more riding roads on the way down.
Just lookout for the crazy laowai driving a beige jeep!!
I will offer to help map these roads which are clearly visible on google earth..
