"The race will begin in Chenggong the morning of May 25. The registration fee is 50 yuan for locals and 50 US dollars for foreigners."

This kind of bullshit seems to be pretty common in running races across China. There is no way I would participate in this race.

@bjtokm, many people enjoy races because it gives them a goal around which to structure their training. that's fine. there are a lot of logistical costs involved with a race, such a measuring the course, running the timing systems, refereeing the course, etc. that's fine. but it should be the same price for locals and foreigners.

Perhaps they don't want us running. They know how we will react and not take part.

Seeing as most of us who run, can run. And the local fun runners walk faster than they can run, just more flailing when they 'run'.

Imagine the local dismay if a white devil amateurs whooped local 'talent'.

Just call me cynical.

Perhaps we should have a 'whip round' to sponsor a white devil ringer.
