I don't think this has anything to do with justice in any country, unless a crime has been committed.
Birth control or their lack of using it does not make him a criminal or liable, a jackass maybe, but a criminal no.
As to the money thing, well as there no information to go on, how can anyone comment on that.
I apologize on behalf of the French.
You have a French guy who got a Chinese woman pregnant,took her money - so you said. And the best thing you could do is to blame his Chinese connection for not helping you to deliver a message and justice in China???? What result you would like to achieve by delivering this message? What difference would it make if the message was delivered? YOu think he doesn't know what's happening?
You know where he studies -KCEL why don't you go there and confront him instead of relying on someone else to " deliver your message"?
She doesn't live in Kunming. He went to Kunming a few months after dumping her in another city. Nobody is asking anybody to believe in anything. That's why I didn't even bother providing gruesome "details" since I don't wanna violate the rule of this forum! Call me old-fashioned. Sometimes it doesn't require a law to do the right thing. A lesson learned? Sure! However, every misfortune has a lesson to learn and that doesn't mean it's a one-way lesson to learn. But then again, we're not on jury's duty either, let along having an online trial.
We don't know his class schedule. The school didn't even want to provide his class schedule or anything for us to take actions. I guess if wondering around by the front gate of the school 7/24 might have some chance to spot him??! Who has the time and energy??
It's always interesting to hear different views from 3rd parties. We thought at least the school can act like a channel for us to resolve the issue but they refused to help. That's what this thread was all about.
to crazy.laowai: Didn't mean to focus on the nationality of the subject involved but thanks for your "apology"! :)
Although your friend has my sympathy the school is not doing anything wrong not even by refusing to give you his class schedule or deliver the message for you. The guy is paying his tuition there and he is their customer. How could a school give away their customer's class schedule based on your side of story - sorry - if they did it would be unprofessional - unless you get police involved which I think it is very unlikely in this case.
Delivering the message - depending on what it is. " please ask xx to call xxx back and the number is xxxx " This shouldn't be any problem. But if the message sounds anything like " Please tell xxx he got xxx pregnant and he didn't pay for abortion and he is not a decent man....." - it is too personal and it would be inappropriate for a school to deliver such messages.
The situation is a mess and the proof you have got is not enough to take him to the court so it's best to sort out between two people getting least people involved.
The guy didn't even pay off the tuition yet. At least according to him. You're right. This is nobody else's business but the "sort it out between 2 people" part is practically impossible since 1 in 2 is unreachable.
Case closed. Thanks for watching.
Aren't you being a bit naive mate? Sure the guy sounds like a douche (or an in-over-his-head 23 year old in a bad situation, who knows?) but you're talking about the police, badgering his work mates for information and blaming his school for not providing you with his class schedule. 1.Based on your post I can't see he's done anything illegal. 2. Any workmate would be better off not getting involved. 3. I'm fairly sure even in China they're not allowed to hand out personal information to random people.
I don't even know why you're posting here since clearly there's no legal case. If you just want to vent that's fine I guess, but I hope you're not trying to rile up GoKunming and the forum people to dish out 'justice' in a case we know nothing about, a guy we don't know and a messed up personal situation we only get to hear from one side.
@danmairen
Well said. Off-topic - but can you repost the Chengdu US Consulate visit for those who may have missed it. I just received confirmation they're coming ... and please please please don't hassle them about US State Dept policies which set the obscene embassy fees for US Citizen services, while we give away BILLIONS to middle east countries, Saipan, etc which we destabilized, invaded, and or now want to leave. They can't do anything about it (nobody can - now there's a body with no head).
@nicy
So, you want to have intimate premarital relations with the handsome guys eh?
What does this have to do with China? The girl learned a hard lesson that unfortunately many have learned in every country. Some people are just plain irresponsible. The situation is very messy, and you can't blame their family and friend's for that.
What do you want the school/police/society to do? Force him to pay for an abortion? Force him to be her boyfriend? Force him to financially support her? Unless they were married I don't see that happening.
I suppose if you wanted to make a big deal about it, and feed off xenophobia in China you could contact the news and immigration department.....
