Is there anyone in Kunming who makes shoes to order? It's not too hard to find a tailor who makes clothes to fit, especially if you don't insist on up-to-the-moment fashions.

If you go for hand made shoes, make sure you ask the price, they may not be as cheap as you thought. A buddy of mine was quoted 1500 from a small cobblers shop in Shanghai and that was years ago.

The best bet is without a doubt Taobao/Tmall. Online shopping has come on leaps and bounds in recent years.

In the not too distant future, I believe that Decathalon will open in the South (near DaShangHui) in September. They should do larger sizes, as they do in other cities.
