Hi, does anyone know know the procedure for bringing a dog with you on the long-distance trains from kunming to someother big city in China?

I want to bring my dog with me from Kunming to Guangzhou, but not sure how easy or difficult it might be - and if I need to pre-arrange with some office beforehand.

All relevant information much appreciated.

My wife, who is Chinese, said that they have a baggage car that will hold animals. I am almost 100% sure in China they will not let you have a dog around people. A lot of people here think dogs and cats are dirty things to be avoided.

Certainly have to make some arrangements but she said that people do move pets in China, and we have a little dog too and I worry about him all the time here.

The dog is not allowed to bring into the cabin of the train, but you can leave her/him in the luggage hall, which I do not really recommend if it's a small dog, or if it's a long journey.

I carried my dog all the way from the Netherlands to Kunming, Amsterdam to Chengdu, I flied with KLM, Chengdu to Kunming, I flied with China Eastern, they left her in the belly of the airplane, few documents work, but went very fine!
