When i first came to Kunming 7 months ago there was, what looked like an art scene. Nordica had a live show about following your dreams, and the following week was a BBOY competition near the art school. Since then i haven't seen much going down other than the exhibit at Moondog (which is very cool)
Am i missing the activities or did the activities just dry up
The summer months are always a bit slow, we'll do another Kollektive Kunming Exhibition in autumn.
Does that include shows and break dancing competitions?
There is no art scene in Kunming. Give that hope up.
@BillDan: I beg to differ. Kunming produced some of China's top contemporary artists, and continues to produce some very exceptional young talent every year.
Kunming may not have a whole lot of art galleries around town, but there are several art communities and quite a few small galleries and events if you keep your eyes open (hint: you have to look beyond Gokunming).
Summer is usually a bit slow, but things should be picking up soon. If you can read Chinese, I'd recommend checking out Douban.com
