We're looking to buy lots of plants for our apartment. Big potted trees, some dwarf trees and some little flowering plants too.

Also, we're wondering where to buy cooking herb plants like basil, tyme, mint and taragon.

I've looked downtown by the bird and flower market, but the prices are really high. I've heard that there's a massive 'flower town' outside the city, which is a wholesale depot and nursery. Does anyone know its name and address? Any other spots around town would be great too, where prices and delivery are reasonable.

Sounds like they have all kinds of houseplants as well as herbs - the story's author evidently scored some rosemary.

i know there are many plants and flower in our institute for sale. and there are many places near our institute selling trees and flowering plants. i think the price is reasonable, because they are for wholesale. You can buy potted plants at Kunming Flower and Bird Market (昆明白龙花鸟市场) on BaiLong Rd, just north of the 2nd Ring Rd intersection.

There is also a smaller plant section at the JingXing Bird Maret (景星花鸟市场) just to the west of Nanping Road in the city centre.

Ummm... better late than never I guess.
