It's shorts'n' t-shirt weather from the middle of March untill November here. Last year's rainy season was mild with maybe 10 days of rain a month but that was supposedly an exeption. Anyway clothes is cheap here so don't bring too much of that though sizes are generally small to medium.

The weather can have its ups and downs. Its been beautiful low 20s all winter apart from 1 week in November and also the last couple of days. However last year it was freezing all winter. Its usually warmer in March but can still be chilly at night and Kunming is a total stranger to central heating and insulated architecture so have at least one thick jumper and you should be fine.
