I did my work visa in Chiang Mai, Thailand, a couple weeks ago. Very simple. Thailand doesn't require a visa for people from most western countries, and Chiang Mai is an hour 20 minute flight away.

Can you confirm if you need to have a letter from employer stating the visa is required from Chang Mai.
