buy a new one if you do not have any professional friends to suggest you an old one. go to 4s shop to buy the new one of the brand you like.

where's 4s? I've heard imports are super expensive. Is that true?

In North America I'm very familiar to the auto industry, used, new and servicing.
I spent 2 years shopping in Kunming and China, comparing, new, old, very old, private sale, wholesale..
It all depends on your needs,skills and available cash..oh yes your status in society..HAA!!

For my needs I have a BJ 2023, EFI Toyota engine (made in China), parts are inexpensive, tough. It does the job.
I do all my work or inspect while they do it ...
As for status??? the lowest possible in China.. but I get the upper hand when it comes to driving....you always win against the shiney ones ....unless they have red numbers on the plates.

New ?? some great chinese cars out there...
Most of import cars in the world are made of Chinese made parts / components, foreign companies designed and quality controled these components...

Now chinese made cars are mostly made of foreigncomponents, engins, transmissions, suspention units, body shells, EFI (fuel management systems) and various other components.....
Some safety tests are still not up to world standards...example...Late 80's U.S.A / Canada suzuki sidekick 4x4 wheel stance (width)had to be widened because of tipping over problem...but you can buy the same model here in china in the same width..great buy !!130k rmb "Jimny"

IMO, beter is the Zotye, 4x4 80k rmb or in the 2wd 60krmb..

anyone have experience with the Great Wall SUV named Hover? looks nice and not too expensive. 95,000rmb
