Well, you have mentiones it: as well in Thailand or China: the Days "fly under the Radar" are pretty much over, if you want to buy a Business - in nearly any Country! Dont you think so? So keeping staying on Tourist Visas for 3 Months - do I have to leave China each time and enter again? So it would be Laos as the Base to do so?

From KM, the crossing at Hekou / Lao Cai is much closer: about 6 hours by train. A VietNam visa is $25 at the Consul, or $45 from an agent at Hekou.
