Never understood whats so amazing about "Chiang Mai" or Phnom Penh, wherever, maybe they were nice 30 years ago, look at that horror today. Or whats so cool about Bangkok, the tuktuk on Khao San among those drunken dorks there, or a aircon condo on Sukhumvit in that noise and pollution with a Starbucks and Pizza Hut on first floor. One Mega Mall after another now. The pool? Idiots. Sihanoukville is as close to nightmare it can get. Now, you find foreigners hanging in those cheap Sihanoukville guesthouses there for months, in their paradise, among the destroyed nature, casinos, whores, and construction dust. Why not stay in Dover instead. But its part of the desperation going on, its now a matter to plan accordingly and avoid it as much as possible. Now when even the model child Bhutan has a traffic problem. But its, of course, up to everyone to choose. Or to be ignorant. Im cool with anyone slurping gutter oil and taking a fast train to Pizza Hut in "Bangkok". If its yer thing, its fine. Buy a condo there, fine, go for it. Live the dream, heh.
