I see that on Dianchi (Grass Sea) there were boats out today training. It looks like they have set up lanes for racing. I didn't see anything in the calendar (I may have overlooked it), but assume it is over the weekend.
I saw 2s, 4s, and 8s out on the water.
Could be national team altitude training?
What calendar... A need to post something on the web calendar... Or, is there rowing in Kunming on the mentioned lake? Or anywhere else?
It's been awhile since medal-days but recreational rowing: pair, double or 4 is something I can commit to.
I was talking about the calendar on Gokunming. I am not sure if there is a local government calendar with all events.
It looks like it is a competition as the marquees and fences are out.
I live lakeside, and this is the first time I have ever seen sculls. There is no boat club and just getting down to the water would be a real problem, as (like most waterways) there is a 1-2m wall bankside, with no steps.
"Open Rowing Competition" according to the signs.
OK. Any updates on the possibilities of rowing/ erg training would be excellent. TIA
Looking at the information in the link Dan provided, it looks like the boat races were international teams.
There is also reference to ' land rowing' , using 'dynanometers' .
I am guessing that this land rowing is the open rowing competition, using gym type rowing machines. Just a guess.
My guess is that the 'land rowing' , using 'dynanometers' is the gym-type rowing machines, but "open rowing" is water-based. Again, just a guess.
