Has anyone been to 怒江大峡谷 Nu Jiang Gorge recently?

I was wondering the best way to get there from Kunming. I saw you can fly from Kunming to Baoshan and then take a bus, or take the train to Dali or Chu Xiong and then take buses from there...

Also, curious what the weather is like in the winter...

Direct buses from Kunming leave in the early evening and arrive late morning the following day, that's probably the easiest.

The two ways you described also work, but won't save you any time.

The weather now is pretty good depending where in the valley you are, (warm-ish day, cold-ish nights) should be mostly sunny, and the river is a beautiful blue colour.
