You will find a range of artisan breads, but not Russian style, at Wicker Basket, Slice of Heaven, and French Cafe, to name but a few. None of this cake masquerading as bread that we often find here.
I would like to know of any Russian restaurants. Or if any of the Russian community would be interested in doing open house one night. With a pre-arranged fee to cover the food costs (plus a fair profit to make it worth while). I would be up for that. Hell! I would even bring vodka.
Excellent bread also from Jan at the DT Bar on Sunday afternoons.
I've seen Russian style bread in a small shop in front of Yunan University gate ( old building side). As for chocolate, ordered on line.
Waiting now when it would be delivered)
There is a small family shop on Xi Ba Lu 西坝路 ,they r Chinese but they do Russian style bakery. Their bread is ok when its fresh, gets dry with in 24h and difficult to eat, Im mean to put something on it without having shunk sticking up to the knife :-)
If you cant find it, send me your wechat via pm , Ill send u location map.
Carre Four in the Aegean Mall had a huge loaf of Russian bread today, you can buy a hunk or slice(s) of it.
