There you go again, Napoleon. Shouting your derogatory remarks about Americans. It's the less educated people like yourself who don't understand that not every American is fat, etc. Grow up a bit and educate yourself. Get off your computer and read a book or something.

I remember years ago there was something with the French. In Wuhan they protested outside of Carrefour, the threat was they would storm it and smash it up, same with the Citroen factory there. When I got to Carefore there was a crowd of maybe 200 people with banners, chanting shite, trampling on French flags. Went through with out as much as even a strange look, did my shopping and despite itching for someone to say something or throw a punch, nothing happened. I left with my Belgian chocolates and went home.
It's just a lot of chest puffing and noise.

Other places I've been I've laid low until it tides over, here you can still get drinks in. Despite all the people who'll have you loosing sleep over it, hyping it up in bars and forums, I've never even had a shopping trip disturbed by it.

I was in Beijing when they stoned the Embassy too, nothing to report there either.

This is scary. I was in the incident that Daithi mentioned on page 1 at the hotpot restaurant, mostly getting beat on the ground. I live near Renmin and Baita, I pass by that area every single day on foot. I don't really care what happens to me, I know the actions of a few guys can't possibly reflect on a whole country. I wouldn't be in China if I didn't love it. But this new wave coming around is really concerning considering this incident seemed to be related to a foreigner-local relationship. Having recieved a gang beating in which an old woman was wailed on for trying to defuse the situation, I would really hate to have something happen to my girlfriend because of some political garbage. And now we've got headlines about Obama's G20 welcome.. I can't wait for whatever is happening to blow over.

An extract from earlier in this thread:

'I can't watch that video but I'm guessing it's someone who was told they were special, told the world runs on love, told they were superior in some way, mollycoddled and molded into the softest of snowflakes, only to find that the world doesn't work that way outside of their front door. Seen that all before.'.

And thus without even being seen or heard the evidence presented in the video is summarily dismissed simply because it doesn't support the dogma.

If you've not been able to watch don't be put off by this less than objective dismissal.

What I'm saying is if it was all that bad, I wouldn't be here, neither would you. I'm not looking to be some sinophile martyr going down with the ship, nor I would imagine would anyone else. We all have homes to go to.

I'm not saying these things don't happen, I had to leave one country on a freight ship in the dead of night (twice), if it kicks off I'm going again, no skin off my nose. But it isn't going to happen, you'll all be here next time discussing "yeah, I know I said last time it was it but this time.... " like an end of the world cult.

Some upperty president having a moan because he had to wait a while to get off his own private jet isn't going to phase me. Sod him, his sense of entitlement and his private jet.

Don't know about you but when someone who owes me trillions and trillions comes to my door they don't get the bells and whistles treatment either.

Not much to say about Napoleon's racist outbursts. I guess if you are growing up as an over-privileged, entitled white guy, with your ancestors becoming rich by stealing land, well and then living the big life in China, living secluded form the real live, making a lot of money and then judging everyone else, especially the people who don't have money, while forcing and telling everyone what to do, then ...em....Well done Napoleon!!!

If you are actually real about your heritage I wouldn't make too much fun about Americans.

As I said before, go online, or to the cops, and listen what the professionals will tell you.

Just go online and type on baidu-video, violence in kunming, beating in kunming....well just write down the date, if you want to narrow it down, and wait for anchor or source to tell you the reason for the violent outbursts. And then tell me again, that China is safe.

Actually enjoy the bike driver guy who got his skull split with a machete for parking in the wrong spot.

The man stabbed to death for complaining about the smoke of a BBQ place,...just to show some highlights.

OF course there are other places, equally dangerous but the risks are more calculable.

I know people that grew up in the nastiest places in USA and Europe, and they said, if you are not in a gang or involved in crime, you can have a very relaxed life.

The tolerance and patience with people is higher, but it's not due to DNA but family education and school education.

I am not scared but alarmed about attacks, and random violence. Nut scurrying in a cave and being scared. But no harm to be careful in a place, that justifies violence and preached hatred for other nations and races.

Anyway just my 2 cents.

@Dudeson's you mentioned this: "if your Chinese is good enough, you will find plenty of attacks on foreigners including pictures online."
What do you mean by pictures online, what exactly do the chinese do or say with foreign picture online??
