Has anyone heard of a new boutique hotel, possibly in an old French building, called Olive Community (ganlan gongshe)? Or possibly not a hotel but a cafe or restaurant or some other kind of organization.

It is a very nice hotel indeed. Totally different from the boring Chinese standard that gives hotels all the same outlook.
They organise often talks there of various topics, e.g. presentation of new books. I happened to visit there 3 weeks ago or so, when booking a room was still not possible. But I enjoyed seeing them all, each one carrying the features of different novels! Now it seems to be fully functioning...
