Documentary for German TV

Hi Kunming Crew,

I lived and studied in Kunming myself for quite a while in 2011/2012. Now I am working as a producer for a TV production company and we are planning a trip to China this year.

One of the upcoming projects would be the "Dwarf Empire" in Kunming. We want to discuss the ambivalence between exploitation (and gaping) of the parks employees and the potential benefits for disdvantaged people in China (who otherwise might land on the streets).

Anyways. I am having some trouble getting in touch with the owner of the park. That is why I need your help.

Does anybody have the contact details of the park? Is there an e-mail address or a phone number that I can use for contacting?

I also tried to get in touch with the Hump Hostel, as they organize trips to the "Dwarf Empire". Unfortunately the phone number on their website doesn't seem to work and I haven't received any reply to my e-mail request yet.

So, does anybody know another way of contacting the Hump Hostel? Or know the owner by any chance?

If you guys have any advice for me it would be much appreciated!

Thanks and best regards
Michelle

I'm not sure about who to contact for this but I can almost guarantee that you won't get much out of the discussion about the exploitation of the employees. Chance would be very small and I would say the owner of the park would be the last person to consult about this.

@vicar.
The usual useless contribution from @vicar.
If you have nothing to add than just shut up instead of stating the obvious.

@MiXue.

If you had mailed your massage a day earlier I could have popped by the place and get some phone numbers since I cycled passed it today. (Mind you there is a nasty steep slope right in front of it which I don't like to take and I personally would not like to be even seen dead in that place).
However I think that would be still pretty useless. What you need is a good local fixer with experience in working here. I am sure German TV will have their own contacts and fixers in China and they will have to contact a local fixer. I presume you are not a local fixer and not really sure you are even Chinese. If you are than you will have to fix it yourself ;-) If you are not than find a local fixer. One option is contacting Yunnan TV.

@lemon lover
Hi! Thanks for the info. No, I am not Chinese. And before I contact a fixer I need to check first if I can organize anything by myself. Which means: getting in touch with the park owner.

They are about to finish the dam for a reservoir that might flood the access road to the "Dwarfs Empire". Was thinking that if this happened they might have a nice isolated empire. Passed some 4-5 busses coming from there so some people are going there.

Alright.

If anybody else is reading this post: in case you know how I can contact the park (website, e-mail, phone number), I would appreciate your help. Thanks!

@vicar and lemonlover. Why do you assume the owner has something to hide or no free access to employees would be given? The BBC reporter was clearly given free access to interview employees.

Everyone assumes the dwarf empire is some form exploitation. Why does no one bother to do some research?

@MiXue. I'd say get in touch with the BBC reporter.
