Need an osteopath urgently

If it's urgent and serious, I would recommend flying to Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Have someone else accompany you and carry your bags. Many foreigners appreciate Bumrungrad hospital in Bangkok, we personally prefer BNH Hospital, both are good options with English speaking, foreign-trained doctors and international standards of care and service.

If that's not an option, you may like to get some tests done here and then consider your options. If you don't find or trust a professional opinion obtained in Kunming, we have just started a medical business at zomia.cn which can connect you to foreign specialists in US hospitals for a second opinion and remote consultation. Just give us a call or PM me.

Good luck, sorry to hear about your condition.

We have not been to any hospital yet. We just need a good osteopath to straighten his back and all will be ok.

You might try Kunming #1 or #2 hospital, though I know nothing of osteopathy practiced there. Have had good medical care for other problems at Kunming #2.

When I had back trouble, which was really painful, I found the following.
Nearly all back pain is muscular, it rarely is to do with a bone/osteo problem. It is a recurring weakness, and once you have this weakness, anything can trigger it.
People will often ask for a CT scan, the results are inconclusive. People with a bad looking CT may experience no problem, people with good CT may have a bad back.
The best course of treatment involves simple (and very light) exercise/physio treatment.
I found a 1970s set of YMCA made videos on torrents. Despite my pain I was able to do the basic exercises. The hardest part was getting down on the floor. I noticed an improvement on day 3. My back felt relaxed after exercise, and during exercise I could feel my back settling into a more comfortable position. I will try to find the DVDs again, but there are others.

There are torrents for lots of books and a few videos. They are all similar and involve very light physio you can teach yourself.

One place to look is losethebackpain.com

I spoke with my USA Chiropractor friend, who is not in Kunming at the moment. If you need care right away he suggests the Yadong Hospital near Asia Sport City. There is a USA doctor there. They will have a rehabilitation hospital there later this year. There is a British joint venture rehabilitation center in Song Ming which can probably provide help.

Thanks so much for all your suggestions. We have started researching and hopefully soon this will be a bad memory.

You are all great!
