Just checking the current state of play.
I wish to confirm, or otherwise, is HK processing Z visas at the moment?
Are they currently doing the 2 day (apply on the morning of day one, collect on the afternoon of day 2) service?
Any recent experience sharing would be much appreciated.
the 'rush' service is only available to certain nationalities. AFAIK they are still accepting applications but are being quite strict about the 'supporting material'. A colleague got the Z visa there a week or two ago.
I can answer yes to both your questions from very recent experience. This was for changing my employment from Foshan back to Guangzhou. For some stupid reason Guangzhou told me I had to get a new Z-visa. I'm a British engineer btw. I was told that I could get the Z-visa there as I already had a resident permit from Foshan. Not sure if you can get it if you're here initially on a tourist or business visa.
As long as your official Z visa invitation letter says that the visa is to be processed in HK then you are good to go.
Be sure you do the Z visa within, as requested by you, the specified time frame in the Z visa invitation letter at the specified Chinese Consulate or embassy, as requested by you, in the original application to get the Z visa letter.
