@Goblin: So you want to discuss my patronizing & your worry about it? Perhaps has little to do with the other thread where you brought it up - as were, mea culpa, a few of my recent posts there. I'll try not to bother you folks with such posts on other threads.
So what do you want to say about what you see as my patronizing behavior?
Thing is, I've asked a number of people if they look at or contribute to GoKM forum threads, and many people say Naw they're not interested in wading through all that garbage, or words to that effect. GoKM is not a democracy, it's a private business. I'm not in favor of 'censorship' (if that's the right word) of anything, but I agree with GoKM that the forum would be more useful, and more people would use it, if threads didn't all wind up with insults or defensive/aggressive posts about the individuals who post, or that go way off topic. So why can't we engage in all that here?
Now maybe that is patronizing, but whether it is or not, I think it's a good idea.

But perhaps you can enlighten me. When another user posts insults and call you names for giving responses that is relevant to the topic, now should one respond as to not hijack the thread?

You seem to have a very good system going. Is this now the official authorized method? To redirect to this thread? If so, I would follow the most correct protocol for the acceptable behavior on the internet.

@Tony: Your questions:
(1) Don't bother to respond, or do it if your ego demands it, and on a thread dedicated to such, so it does not lead away from the OP and then on into an almost endless series of mutual recriminations etc. and drive forum users with fewer ego problems and real interests in the topic away from the forum entirely. My suggestion, in case you haven't figured it out: Let's use this thread for all such.
