Gang fight at the small community park

@Napoleon
China is far from being safe. There is no reliable statistic or record of crime at least not violent crime.

We went back to ask about our Nanpingjie assailant, to find out what happened to him after he injured a woman and her kid and scaring others. And the incident wasn't even recorded. the cop was checking on the computer. No record, he said half jokingly,...unless someone gets paralyzed, killed or someone pressing charges, they drop the whole thing.

If you think there are no bad neighborhoods, I can ask my friend to give you the tour, he gave me. He moderately called it the junkie district. He advised not to go there alone or at night.

It's shocking how dangerous china can be. And the government promoting safety, knowing how dangerous China really is.

I am not a pessimist but i have seen too much of violence and ignorance of others suffering, to agree with a "China is safe",agreement.

Is it safer like Johannisburg or Afghanistan? Most probably but i sincerely doubt, that it is safer than the US. Especially considering how many guns are easily available in the US, unless you live in a BAD neighborhood. And to be fair, all bad neighborhoods are bad and dangerous.

China is not as safe as you think or want to believe. So better be careful.

China is by far a lot safer than any European country, where one could seriously get harmed, especially in Central Europe where hordes of Neo Nazis/Skinheads reside.

@yankee00 Don't understand you saying China is safer than any European country. I think places like in the UK report and add to the database every crime (no matter how small), while here in China a lot can be overlooked!

Just look at road crimes as a big example ;)

China is safe! Do I go outside on a weekend and find the city centre a mass of football hooligans. Do I have to be careful at petrol stations that someone doesnt jump in the back of the car and speed off with it. Do I need to worry about stopping at certain red lights?
Is there an evident gang culture? is there sectarian aggro? is there no go areas for police?
No. Now, ask yourself if this is the case back home in America or Europe?

When was the last time you heard a foreigner getting held up in a taxi? targeted by drunks in a bar? (yes it happens, but is it enough to make you worry each time you get in a taxi or go outside at night?)

I dont know where some people must live to consider China dangerous. Perhaps there's a lot of Bhutanis on here or Pitcairn Islanders. Perhaps the Americans all live on the White House lawn, perhaps the Europeans spend their days in Eaton collage campus or St Marks Square.

China is a safe place, whatever you want to say about statistics no one is here saying its not safe my friend was murdered, its not safe I had my car jacked, its not safe I was assulted. Who mentioned drug addicts? What? you don't have this in America or Europe? I cant say I've seen it, so it must be fairly tucked away, not evident on the high street like in Europe or USA.

I may have painted Europe as a dangerous place. That want intentional. It's safe. Just not as safe as China.

America is dangerous on the other hand, plenty more so than China.

China is definitely less violent. The culture is different. America's culture is one of violence. High unemployment, children being raised without a fathers. Gangs, drugs, music that promote sex and disrespect towards women, parents, authority, etc.
I also feel safe walking at 3:00 a.m. here then in my home country. China is not at that level yet. In many cities if a beautiful woman walks down the street men will catcall and harass these women. I betting that women also feel safer in China that in America. It's just a fact. Of course you always have to be careful no matter where you live.

Never been America but from the media I do see I'd say yes China is definitely a safer place than there. I was just speaking in my own experience from different European cities visited as to Europe being safer than China in general.

Any city in the world does have it's dangers though, whether seen or unseen.
