I m currently holding an M visa ( business ) and I would like to know if it s possible to turn it into a Student visa without having to leave China.

Feedback from someone who experienced this situation would be terrific

from inside the mainland it is impossibe, it would require a trip to HK

Why don't you ask the schools if they can do it?

Go ask the schools like yankee00 suggests. I don't see why if they can change an L visa into a student visa, why they can't do same for M.

As with other visa questions, why not go to the PSB? I'll be moving from a Z visa to student visa in the medium term. I already have all the information I currently need by talking directly to these people - they have the answers. Office is on an upper floor in their premises on TuoDong Lu near the swimming pool and sports stadium. From Z to student I will not be required to leave China. However, Z and M procedures could be worlds apart.

good luck. can be done, but its 50/50 switching from any visa to student visa. youll have to do a psb interview. they will want to see at least basic chinese language, your current housing situation, monthly rent payment, and why you want to change to a student visa.

to improve your chances take a bank statement with enough money to cover all expenses for 1 year. if you cant do that, look to moving to an older building outside of the city center. that is the main thing they look at to see if you will still try to work on a student visa.
