Some Walmart, some Carrefour, not sure about what ex machines Metro has at the moment. There is an ex equipment shop in NanYa shopping centre on the same level as Carrefour. There are several shops selling exercise equipment around Tuodong Stadium and adjacent area of Dongfang Dong Lu.

If you have never owned one before, don't buy the cheap ones. They are crap and you will just stop using it.

I joined a gym for the same price as a medium quality machine. I have access to so much more now.

@tigertiger: Thanks for the advice. I actually just checked out a gym as well and came away happily surprised at the price so I might go down that route anyway. Do you know anything about the gym in the Aegean Mall in the south? It looks good and the 6 month price (1280) seems very good as it also includes classes in the cost.
