@Neddy: For humans I'm sure it is, but, as I said, I thought there were exceptions. Most animals are destined to be meals, as most everywhere, even though pigs are as smart as dogs - where's Gompo? He usually has things to say about this.
Anyway, the affection for dogs is a good reminder that animals can, and indeed have, been part of human consciousness as real life, really living beings on whom, to exert pain, is 'wrong' - even though we only treat those we happen to love with any sense of ethical necessity. All too often this is the case with other people, too (e.g.: kill all of (whoever the enemy happens to be this year) because THEY are all the same).
Sorry - digressions for a rainy day.
I don't know about an actual pet cemeteray but I have seen a few locals burying their dead dogs and cats on the mountains. They dig a hole and bury it and then cover it with rocks to make a semi-permanent burial mound. Seen this about 4-5 times in diff places.
"Most animals are destined to be meals...." Due to the nature of the OP - why don't you just SHUT UP!
Another thread with a legitimate question turning into a fucking circus!!!!!!!
I asked my wife and she said what HCAMPO said. That they usually take the body to a mountain and bury it. No need to add stupid remakes about what China does with animals. Open another thread about Chinese people eating dogs and cats.
@liumingke: guess you're right, some people indeed bury animals in China. Is it legal? Can't see that it matters much.
I wasn't referring to eating dogs and cats, but to the fact that most animals are farm animals and most of those are raised for food.
